Our Thin Blue Line essential oil has been developed to help you through the early stages of pregnancy and beyond.
Although this oil was blended specifically for mums to use in the first trimester the whole purpose of the oil is to help you create a restful sleep routine in the evening as well as helping with nausea. So it’s great to use throughout your pregnancy or for anyone who needs some restful sleep.
Many people shy away from using essential oils when they find out they are pregnant yet continue to use a huge variety of synthetic chemicals that are found in beauty products, deodorants, hairspray, bath products etc. This 100% natural blend of pure essential oils is safe to use during the first trimester (and throughout pregnancy) to aid relaxation, support wellbeing, and nurture those all-important first connections between you and your baby.
Lavender is calming and soothing for the mind and body. It has a sedative effect on the central nervous system and can help to reduce fear, anxiety and promote a healthier sleep pattern. It is also known for its analgesic effects.
Frankincense is deeply calming and comforting. It is excellent for the skin, helping to rejuvenate skin tone and reduce the appearance of wrinkles and stretch marks. It is also thought to support uterus health.
Mandarin is excellent for use during pregnancy. It is wonderfully soothing and uplifting and can help promote restful sleep. It’s great for settling digestive upsets such as nausea / morning sickness, and, along with Lavender and Frankincense, can be beneficial for stretch marks.
Every expectant mum wants to reach their 3-month milestone, as the perception is the risk of miscarriage is reduced after this point. In fact, the risk of miscarriage drops continually from 6 – 10 weeks of pregnancy, with less than 1% risk by 14 weeks. However, one of the biggest things that can affect you and your baby’s wellbeing is stress, at ANY time of your pregnancy. Stress is thought to be linked to a greater risk of miscarriage, premature birth and low-birth weight. Our Thin Blue Line essential oil has therefore been designed to help you relax, de-stress and nurture your wellbeing for a positive pregnancy experience.
How to use our Thin Blue Line essential oil:
To help you sleep we recommend using 2-3 drops of oil in an aromatherapy diffuser for 20 minutes or up to one hour before going to bed.
For daytime use it can be carried around in your bag to have a quick sniff off if you’re feeling nauseous or faint. Lemon essential oil is good for this purpose too.
If you have been using essential oils before pregnancy then you can also dilute 1 drop of oil per 5ml of Bump & Bits Massage Oil, or another carrier oil, moisturising cream, moisturising lotion or aloe vera gel for direct application to the skin. Or add to our Bath Oil or Bath & Shower Gel for a relaxing soak.
Safety note: If you haven’t used essential oils before pregnancy we advise that you don’t use them on the skin until your second trimester. Diffusing and inhaling will be sufficient for the first trimester.
