Our beautiful ‘Birth Day’ essential oil will nurture you through the very final stages of pregnancy. It is specifically blended to support uterine wellbeing, ease you through those Braxton Hicks ready for the real thing, and most importantly, to get your body and mind ready for childbirth!
The oil contains a 100% pure and natural blend of Mandarin, Clary Sage, Jasmine, Lavender, Neroli and Rose.
Mandarin is wonderfully soothing and uplifting. It is psychologically strengthening and can help to calm an over-active mind and encourage restful sleep.
Clary Sage is deeply relaxing and excellent for soothing stress and tension. It has analgesic properties and is also thought to help stimulate contractions.
Jasmine is emotionally warming and uplifting and can help to inspire confidence. It is excellent for use during childbirth as it’s believed to offer pain-relief whilst strengthening contractions and shortening labour.
Lavender is calming for mind and body and works brilliantly with Jasmine to aid contractions and ease pain. (See study)
Neroli can help soothe anxiety, fear, nerves and muscular tension.
Rose has an affinity with the female body and a powerful effect on the uterus, helping to open and expand the cervix.
How to use our Birth Day essential oil:
Do not use before prior to 38 weeks of pregnancy.
We recommend adding 3 drops to 5ml of our Bump & Bits Massage Oil (or another carrier oil) and gently massaging it daily into the tummy and lower back, beginning with once a day from week 38 and up to 3 times a day from week 40.
You can also add up to 6 drops to a warm (but not hot) bath.
On the big day itself, you can add 3-4 drops to an aromatherapy diffuser to support you and everyone around you during labour and create a beautiful ambiance to welcome your baby in to the world!
You can also use it for massage during the early stages of labour (as per the above instructions) to help manage pain and focus your mind.
Safety note: Only use from week 38 of pregnancy. Check with your midwife or medical practitioner before using this oil in conjunction with other medication during labour.
